-->> Wow! How did a video of the Columbus, Ohio, USA falcons end up on a Dutch forum?!? Neat!
***
It was very interesting to me to watch how cautiously Donna dealt with the falcon, moving slowly, always keeping an eye on her and the falcon was perfectly content to stay where she was and keep both eyes on Donna. Was it my imagination or did Donna's helper start waving the jacket around and agitate the falcon?
***
I also thought it was interesting that Donna went out there without any sort of protection, except for her helper eventually holding up the jacket. When the ODNR folks are up here they wear hard hats and carry big plexiglass shields. Granted, they are taking chicks out of the box, but I sure wouldn't get that close to a falcon without being protected in some way. Donna could have easily gotten a big rip in the backside of her jeans thanks to either one of the falcons!
Great video! It's still not clear to me how it was acquired.

-->> Because a Dutch falcon fan recorded the live streaming cam images and posted the video on the Dutch forum.
# Rosta : Nog wat meer daarover :

Apparently yesterday afternoon Donna Daniel (I think) was adjusting the nestbox cam. I found a video on the Dutch forum. The video says 20:00, but I guess thats our time here in the Netherlands. Should be 2 PM Columbus Time
Just my two cents, Scout on the ledge and Orville flying.
Enjoy!
Lees maar de volgende series. Men is op z'n zachts gezegd enthousiast over Rosta's opname.
Wow, thanks Nora for the video. That was great. My students make observations in shifts using the falcon cams from 1:10 until 1:55 each afternoon. They will freak when they realize they just missed that action. I'll show them Monday and remind them that they never know what they might see.
----------------
Mrs. Fraley, I bet your students will explode! They missed it at 5 minutes, now they'll demand more time to observe!

Mrs.Fraley Sat Feb 09 2008, 03:50PM
I know they will explode! They have made a few observations when one of the falcons were home but when they were there they haven't moved around or even flew off or landed so they haven't seen a lot of action yet. I keep telling them that things will pick up eventually. We have library Monday and have access to a projector so I'll show them the video and then slide the time to them of when it happened.
--------------
Mrs. Fraley let your students do some mathemetics: the Netherlands is GMT+1 (Greenwich Mean Time) and I think Columbus is EST (at least I thought the same time as Cleveland), so let them figure out themselves when it happened!

Mrs. Flaley? Did your students like the video and could they figure out themselves when it happened? I'm pretty curious
My librarian got all the equipment set up including the projector to show them the video on the big screen and I had them excited to see what they missed and when I clicked on the link.......our school system blocked the video , so I have to save it at home on a flash drive and take it to school for them to see but the moment of suspense has been lost and most were going to view it at home. We've been out since then two days for snow and on delays tomorrow and then we have a four day weekend....so I think my moment has been lost. But, oh well it's early in the season so more fun things will be happening.

http://www.falconcam-cmnh.org/e107_plug ... p?24459.30

Lijkt me een tof forum.
